Jason Wu Spring 2010 Collection, New York, NY ( Sept 11, 2009). Presented in High Definition.
In a elegant salon at the famed St. Regis Hotel in uptown New York, Jason Wu presented an eccentric and playful collection that was young and exuberant and no doubt destined for the International party circuit. Clothes that were polished, savvy and perfectly suited for any social occasion. His genius was in taking casual, everyday pieces of American sportswear and reinterpreting them into super-luxe modern day wear and extravagant curvy cocktail frocks that make dressing fun again.
For evening,Jason Wu succumbed to the allure of feathers, offering a pale blush pink strapless number trimmed with an electric-lime-green belt. Wu let it rip when it came to color with an intensely chic bustier party dress in deep oxblood red feathers cinched at the waist with a candy-apple red belt. “I wanted to work that extreme sculptural element into a sort of couture-like technique,” Wu said. “I literally sculpted the dresses on the girls I cast."
Bold dark lips with barely-there eye make-up, tall lacquered updos and sky high electric hued platform heels heightened the drama of his incredibly chic and sophisticated collection.
